Meet Sarah
I am a fourth generation Iris. I have received Irises from my family on birthdays, graduations, celebrations and basically every other occasion. It is a way of keeping my Mimi (Grandmother) and Mamo (Great Grandmother) apart of my life and their stories alive.
A dear friend of mine once said “Your parents teach you who you are, but your grandparents teach you where you come from.” It has stuck with me and I want generations beyond me to be a part of and know the iris tradition.
I am a native Houstonian with a flair of Louisianan (I bleed purple and gold), a love of Mexican culture and all things travel. Literally…can traveling be a love language? If so, it’s mine. I have always loved giving gifts, it makes me the happiest when I find the perfect gift for the occasion. I guess this is not going to leave me the most wealthy when I die… but at least I’ll be happy!
How did I get here? I lost my Dad in 2019, it shook (and is still shaking) my whole world. It stirred something in me and the question of …What am I doing with my life. I still don’t know that answer and I do not know if I ever will but while I am here on earth, I want to create happiness for myself and others. In 2021, I left my job, work family and all I have ever known of 13 years at Pappas Restaurants. (Shoutout to a great company) Then, I started planning my wedding and new business at the same time. Well, welcome to the crazy, because wonderful things don’t plan themselves – so let’s do this!
One thing I can promise you; I am going to give this my whole heart and I hope you join me along the way.
